The two charts illustrate production of electricity as a percentage using different sources of fuel in France between 1995 and 2005.
Overall, coal was the major power house both in 1995 and 2005. In 1995 unmentioned sources contributed the least as well as in 2005. Nuclear was also among the least contributer in both years, while gas was the average producer.
Energy production by coal was the major with 29.80 percent and 30.93 percent in 1995 and 2005 respectively. Gas also produced enormous power slightly below coal at 29.63 and 30.31 percent in 1995 and 2005 respectively. It can clearly be seen that petrol contributed 29.27 percent in 1995, while in 2005 it was the average producer, at 19.55 percent. Nuclear accounted for 6.4 percent of energy, whilst others, at 4.90 percent in 1995. In 2005, nuclear contributed one tenth of energy, whereas other unmentioned sources of energy produced 9.10 percent.
To sumup, there was a slight difference in percentage of coal and gas in both 2005 and 1995. Other sources almost doubled in 2005 from 1995. There was a reduction in the use of petrol in 2005, as nuclear and others increased the production of power in 2005. It is also of note that there was a slight increase in the contribution made by gas and coal in 2005.
