The bar graph illustrate the overall unit of all phone calls made in United Kingdom both local and international by landline or mobile phone between 1995 and 2002.
Overal, the highest telephone use was recorded in 1999, as local phone call was made using fixed line, while communication using mobile cellphone was unpopular. A noticeable gradual increase of countrywide and international calls was experienced. Steadily upward cellphone use was seen in the first 4 years of the given period, and later on there was a rapid increase.
Local calls done using landlines was most popular mode of communication in 1999, as it has a record of approximately 90 billion minute for the whole year, while mobile phones were less used, at 5 billion minutes for the year 1995 on all recorded conversations.
Despite, unpopular use of cellphone, it gradually increased for the first 4 years and later on from 1999, there was a rapid upward movement in the use of mobile phones which was almost doubling each year until it reached 40 billion minutes in 2002. International and national calls made using landline, steadily maintained upward movement throughout the period.
However, in the beginning of the given period local calls done using fixed lines increased each day, until 1999 when it began to fall to about 68 billion units in 2002.
