The chart below gives information about Southland's main exports in 2000, 2019 and future projections in 2025.
The bar graph compares the revenue from the three main exports in Southland in 2000 and 2019 and predicted figures in 2025. Units are measured in billions of pound sterlings.
Overall, the income from international tourism increased slightly and this trend is expected to continue in 2025, while in meat products it is projected to decrease continuously and will remain the lowest source of revenue. It is also noticeable that dairy products' figure fluctuated over the period given.
Southlands' income from international tourism was the biggest by far in 2000 at around £8 billion, then rose by nearly £1 billion within this year. The figure is forecast that it will peak at almost £10 billion in 2025, to become again the leading export. By contrast, revenue from meat products declined from £6billion in 2000 to approximately £5.5 billion this year and will hit a low of £5 billion in 2025.
With regard to dairy products, the number began at £7 billion in 2000 but rocketed to £10 billion this year, which is the highest revenue and this is shown to drop by about a half billion pound sterlings in 2025.
