Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific methods proposed in the reading passage.
The reading and lecture are both about the frog's population which have declined in recent years. The author of reading believes some solutions may help this situation. The lecture challenged the statements made by the author. Professor is of the opinion that these solutions are not suitable for this condition.
First of all, the author suggests that pesticides have harmful effects for frogs, so should approve rules for farmers that they cannot use these chemicals substances. This idea is challenged by the professor. She says that this solution is not practical, because it has disadvantages for farmers in markets. Furthermore, he argues that if a farmer cannot use pesticides, who probably will lose their crops, consequently, he have a lower yield at the end of the year. As a result, a farmer fails in competition with other farmers.
Secondly, the writer contends that fungus has a detrimental effect on the skin of the frog. The article notes can use the antifungal medication and the specific treatment which it is able to remove the infection of fungus. The lecture, however, rebuts this by asserting that the treatment has a huge problem for using on a large scale. She elaborates on this be mentioning that utilizing this care should capture all frogs otherwise this work is impossible, therefore applying this way is not perfect.
Finally, it is stated that natural habitats of frogs are threatened by human activities. The author establishes that excessive water use and draining of wetlands make problems for frogs. The lecture, on the other hand, posits that human activities are not a critical threat actually, global warming is a real problem. The professor mentions that in recent years, global warming has affected wetland habitats and water. So, stopping human movements is unlikely to solve the problems caused by global warming
