ielts writing sample

The bar chart reveals statistics about how many travelers used three separate types of airports, namely John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark in the New York city during a 5-year time frame from 1995 to 2000.

Overall, as can be inferred from the graph, there was an upward pattern in the figure for visitors who used these transports to travel over the course, whilst LaGuardia surpassed any other airport in the number of guests.

Looking at the graph in more detail, we can clearly see that from 1995 to 1997 LaGuardia almost always stood at the highest position with the sole exception in the year 1997, John F. Kennedy witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of visitors which exceeded that of Kennedy at approximately 50, followed by the second highest place, LaGuardia, at over 40. The interesting feature is that there was a similar trend in the number of guests in 1995 and 1996 in three airports.

In details, the proportion of visitors in LaGuardia reached a peak from over 40 in 1998 to nearly 70 in 2000 while this figure for John mildly fluctuated. Last but not least, Newark maintained at the same level of visitors over the course from 1998 to 2000 at 42.
