The line chart illustrates the changes of the world population from 1800 to 2100 and the column chart describes the differences in the number of people live in developed and developing areas from 2015 to 2040.

In general, the world population has gradually grown over the first 250 years to the peak before being forecasted to a decrease in the latter years. Meanwhile, from 2015 until now, citizens in developing countries have remained stable and are predicted to have no change from now on. By contrast, the number of city dwellers in developing areas has continuously grown from 2015 to 2040.

According to the line chart, the world population started at only 1000 million of peoples, then slightly and slowly increased to around 3000 million in 1960, before being predicted to surge to the peak of more than 8000 million in 2050 and suddenly going to sharply and rapidly drop to 6000 million in 2100.

In terms of people live in distinguish regions, developed areas have leveled out the number at about 1200 million of people from 2015 to 2040. While people in developing countries have gradually and continuously risen over this 25 years period, from around 2100 million to almost four times than that in the forecast of 2040.
