The diagram illustrates basic components of a hot balloon and its operating mechanism.
Overall, the process to run a hot balloon has two major stages, beginning with burning a mixture of propane and air in order to make hot air up and ending as it is lifted by the fact of being lighter than surrounding air.
The process commences when propane provided from cylinders is burn with the air at the burner’s position. Following this, burning the mixture of propane and air produces flame so that they completely take up the interior space of the envelope. In the next step, the high temparature makes the hot air inside the balloon lighter than cool air outside, so the whole hot balloon is elevated.
The process concludes after the balloon is blown to a certain volume, and the hot air then is released through a self-sealing flap called parachute valve, which just allows a controlled amount of air to exit.
