The provided column chart illustrates the average numbers of students in the two types of classes in various countries, which compared with the world average.
At first glance, while four out of six countries had the same trend of data with the figure for the world average, the numbers of students at primary schools was higher than those at lower secondary schools in the UK and Iceland.
It is noticeable that South Korean contributed the largest gap to the data of class size between 8-14-year students (over 40 students) and 5-8-year students (nearly 30 students) among these countries. Likewise, the Mexican primary-school class size stood at the larger part of pupils than the lower secondary schools, at roughly 8 students. Also, the number of Japanese and Denmark students at the age of 8-14, which formed about 33 and 17 students respectively, was just over two students higher than the class size of students aged from 5 to 8.
Looking at the column in more detail, we can see that there were insignificant gaps between two groups of students in the UK and Iceland, which had the contrast trend in comparison with the detail of the world. Indeed, there was a 1-student gap only belonged to the difference between the class size of students in group of 5-8 and 8-14 in the UK and Iceland
