Your local newspaper is offering an award for people who have helped the community. Write a letter to the newspaper editor. In your letter
• suggest someone you think should receive the award
• describe what the person does to help the community
• suggest an award that would be appropriate for this person
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to reveal my nominated person for the reward that has been declared from your end and to propose the prize category in this connection.
I would like to introduce Mr. John, 60 years of age-old man, who has been living in our small town for 20 years. Although he is too old, age is just a number because of his mental and physical ability to solve social difficulties. He can work harder than many young men can do. Moreover, he is always enthusiastic and willing to take challenges under any circumstance.
Recently a cyclone struck in our region which expelled more than a hundred people from their house. Having extensive care to these affected people, Mr. John not only donated a significant amount of money but also founded a fundraising committee. 25 volunteers worked under this organization to rehabilitate those people.
Since his action helped to resettle many families, his contribution to society is inevitable. I think Mr. John is the right person to be honored as "the most influential person" for his incredible supportive attitude.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any assistance. I would be particularly interested to help you.
Sincerely
Mr. Smith
