The line graph provides statistics regarding water consumption throughout the world in different fields as agricultural, industrial and domestic, whereas the table illustrates data of water utilization in Brazil and Congo for various purposes.
In general, water consumption around the globe had an increasing trend where agricultural purpose outshines the other sectors with an escalating difference. Likewise, water utilized by Brazilian had significant difference than Congo.
Industrial and domestic sectors had a minimal difference in terms of water consumption until the year 1950, after which the demand for industries rose dramatically to around 1000 km3. Local consumption, on the contrary, occupied only around 2000 km3. Similarly, starting with approximately 5000 km3 of water use in the year 1900, the agricultural sector had a steady increase in demand until mid-1940. Later, the utilization rose drastically to around 3000 km3 in the year 2000.
In Brazil, with 176 million population, 359 m3 water was consumed by each individual and about 26500km3 of it was utilized in irrigation purpose which when compared to Congo is more than 26 times greater. Congo holding a population of 5.2 million had 8m3 of water consumption per person.
