You are planning to return to your hometown after a long absence. Write a letter to one of your old friends. In your letter:
• Explain that you are coming and that you’d like to meet again
• Describe what you’re planning to do
• Say where you’re staying and when you’d be free to meet
Dear Emily,
How’re you?
It’s been a long time since we saw each other and hope you’re doing fine in this period. First of all, heartiest congratulations on your achievement of clearing the IAS exam! You deserve it because you’ve been doing very hard work to crack the exam. I’m sure you will be glad to hear that after so long, finally, I got some time to visit India. My arrival will be on 23 April, and my trip will be a week-long.
Since I’ve got a keen interest in Indian history and art, I’m planning to visit various museums and art galleries in Rajasthan. Also, there are some beautiful gardens in the city which I always wanted to see since my childhood days and now is the time to make my dream come true. After spending 3 days in Rajasthan, my plan is to come to your native place Delhi.
You don’t need to worry about my stay arrangements as I’ve already booked a guest house near Nehru Stadium. By the way, will you be free to meet me on 26 April? We’d roam around the city like we used to do in our college days, and then we can spend the rest of the day at your home with family members.
I’m super excited to meet you soon.
Best Wishes,
Ruchi
