The given bar chart illustrates the distinction in the percentage of female and male students passing seven core subjects in their high school between 2010 and 2011.
At the first glance, it is noticeable that there was the equivalent in pass rate for both genders in Physics, History, Foreign Languages ( including French, German and Spanish) and Mathematics as well. Besides that, the feminine students had always finished the test better than the masculine, however geography was an exception.
Initially, the figures for both genders in Foreign Languages and Mathematics were approximately same, with merely 1 percent higher for the feminine. Similarly, the number of Physics and History tests passed by girls was nearly 2 and 2.5 percent higher than that of boys, with 36,7 and 25.6 percent respectively.
On the other hand, for chemistry, girls had a significantly higher pass rate than boys, 30.2 and 14.1%, in turn. Additionally, over 14% more the feminine achieving acceptable score in Computer Science, with a pass rate of 56.3 shared. Specially, Geography was the only subject where males did much greater than females, with a pass rate of 30,4% which was considerably 10% higher than the feminine.
