The chart illustrates the number of income from Southland’s three main groups of exports in the years of 2000 and 2020 also for prospective projections in 2025.
According to the data, international tourism gave the most revenue to Southland from all main exports in three different year. In 2000, international tourism contributed approximately $8 billion to the city. The following 20 years, the revenue kept growing to nearly $9 billion. Southland predicted this variant of export will exceed to just $10 billion within 5 years. There had some significant difference to the rest 2 exports. Dairy products’ revenue in 2000 was only around $7 billion, but the number rose rapidly approaching to $10 billion. These products foresaw the income will fall slightly to just above of $9 billion. Lastly, meat products had the lowest revenue than the other exports. Starting with exactly $6 billion as the revenue in 2000, the digit kept decreasing to around $5.5 billion and predicted will also decrease to $5 billion in next 5 years.
