The charts below show the medical research funding amount in millions of Dollars in Someland and also shows the death number for this area.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information in the graphs below.
Write at least 150 words.
The given bar charts give data on the proportion of money used for medical research in Someland and providing the number of deaths in this area. Units are represented in millions.
Overall, the highest funding was paid for AIDS while the number of deaths of TB was the most. It can be seen that higher funding generally produced a better result.
In 1990, the research expenditure for TB was the lowest, just 25 million while AID’s fund received more than 150 million. Research funding in Leprosy and Tropical diseases were given approximately 100 million. In comparison with the budget used for medical research in Malaria, at 50 million, the money invested for medical research in Diarrhoea was 10 million higher.
The second graph shows that the highest number of deaths in Someland was caused by TB. Since the highest amount was funded for TB research, it shows that there was a correlation between the amount spent on researching the disease and the casualties caused. The TB disease caused 1,5 million people to die, which is fourth as high as the number of deaths caused by Diarrhoea and seventh as high as deaths for Leprosy. In addition, the figures for the victims who could not recover from Malaria, Tropical disease, and AIDS were around 0,8 million.
