The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade*-labelled tea and pineapples in 2010 and 2015 in five European countries. (Fairtrade: a category of products for which farmers from developing countries have been paid an officially agreed fair price.)
The tables describe data on the changes in terms of the Fairtrade export values of tea and pineapples, varying from five different countries, measured in millions of euros, in between two years: 2010 and 2015.
A closer look at the diagram highlights the fact that while all figures for tea in all countries rose, that of pineapple decreased in Norway and German.
In terms of tea, in 2015, France rocketed its imported value of tea, from 2.5 to 21 million euros, surpassing that of Australia, 8 million, to be the country that imported the most tea in 2015. In addition, other countries also had upward trends, but with little increments in the data, with below 5 million through all years of the survey.
Australia tripled its demand of pineapples to 48 million euros in 2015, remaining to be the most pineapples imported country in comparison with others. Following Australia, it was France, with an increment from 2 to 6.5 million euros in 2015. In the same trend, that of the Netherland climbed up from 1.6 to 5 million euros. In contrast, the figures for Norway and German dropped to below 2 million euros in the same years.
