Write a letter to your new boss,
explaining your situation
expressing your concern
suggesting a solution.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter in regards to my offer to join your esteemed organization. I have been requested to start woroking on the 15th November, but unfortunaetly, I will not be able to make it by then and want to request to join on a later date.
I applied for the junior marketing manager position through the job portal and after three very difficult rounds of interview, I got selected for theat role. Although I am thrilled to join this company, I have just been informed by my parents that my sister’s wedding has been fixed and it is the day before my joining date. As this function will be held in Paris, I will onot be able to make it back in time and want to request for an extenstion.
While talking to the human resource manager, I was informed about an upcoming event and that my role requires to be part of thae planning team. Moreover, this event will be one of the biggest event for the year and the entire team will be part of this activity. To help me catch up with this I will be conducting all my training prior to my first day at work.
I would like to request if I can remotely work on this while I am away and be part of the organization meetings.
I look forward to your positive revert at your earliest convenience.
Yours faithfully,
Karishma Dave
