Tidal Power_integrated task
The passage is describing the advantages of tidal energy which can be used to generate electricity. however, the lecturer argues the passage advantages and talks about the drawbacks of the process of tidal energy as process and usage.
Firstly, a passage describes the location of the barrage or dam on the opening of the river into the sea. where high tide water will enter into the dam and at the time low tide it will be released in the sea again. The force of the water produced in the process of discharge will be used to rotate the turbine and produce electrical energy. However, the lecturer critics that the location will affect some deleterious effects like change in the quality of water, addition of mud, debris, impacts on fish and birds.
Secondly, even though the passage describes the energy that it is renewable, nonpolluting, and with no greenhouse effects there will be a pernicious impact on the ecology of that area. Moreover, the level of the barrage will be more than the sea level hence a fish can not be migrating from the river to sea and fishermen will not able to travel back and forth from the sea, and the river. the lecturer describes this as the economy of the area will be affected,
Additionally, the lecturer said that tidal energy is not able to produce a sufficient amount of electrical energy that is required for daily needs. however, she posits that it may produce more on the regional level.
lecturer castigate the effect of the turbine force that it may paralyze the fish, shellfish, and many other marine creatures.
In totality even though according to the passage tidal energy is seems profitable it is nor that much conducive as the lecturer describes.
