Looking from an overall perspective, the oil resources are distributed and consumed miscellaneously, with some parts of the world having an enormous volume of oil preserved in comparison to the level of consuming capacity whole others experiencing a shortage of oil resources. It is also apparent that all countries are lagging far behind the Middle East volume of the World’s oil reserves. Furthermore, Asia, the US, and Western Europe are the leading consumers whereas all the rest of the World are in the back row with a huge gap in consumption volumes.
As getting into details, the Middle East being second to none possess approximately 60% of the world oil resources, nevertheless it consumes only 6.15% of oil. The second place is taken by Canada having almost 15% of oil world resources with the consumption even smaller than that of the leader. A whole lot of other countries can be grouped since they own less than 10% of total oil reserves each with Australia and New Zealand closing the list.
As for the consumption level, the top-3 countries are Asia with a rate of under 30%, the US having 25.48%, and Western Europe (19.24%). Central Asia and South America, with the consumption volume equating to almost 8%, lead the rest of the countries the oil appetite of the last-named quite unevenly apportioned in the range between 6.56% and 1.3%.
