The chart below shows the percentage of the whole population in four countries from 1950-2002, with projections to 2050.
The bar chart indicates the ratio of the world population in India, China, USA and Japan from 1950 to 2002, and it also shows the prediction of 2050.
As we can see from the graph, the proportion of population of China ranked the first in 1950 and 2002. Though it dropped down slightly from 26% to 24%, it is predicted that the population of China will continue to decrease to 19% in 2050. Besides, India as second to China in the percentage of population, increased from 15%(1950)to 19%(2002), even come in the first place in the middle of 21 century with scale of 21%. In addition, the number of people in USA occupied 10% in 1950, fell to 7% in 2002, the predicted value of which will be the same in 2050. Moreover, the percentage of Japan keep declining from 5% to 3% in 2050.
To sum up, India will replace China become the world’s first populous country by 2050 and USA and Japan will face enormous difficulties in the problems of population aging and a low birth rate.

Comments
Hi, thanks for your comment,
Hi, thanks for your comment, I got a 5.5 for three times in the writing part, i was wondering did I really that bad? I think I tried really hard to improve my writing, but why I still get a 5.5 on my writing at the recent IELTS exam? I am really desperate now.
From the essays you
From the essays you submitted, Your average marks should be around 7.0 for essay writings. We believe there are something wrong with the score 5.5 you got. You may send a letter to IELTS test center and complain.
Suppose there is nothing wrong and still you get 5.5, however, we don't think it is because of your language, the possible reasons could be:
1. You may put less than 250 words for task II and less than 150 words for task I. This may result bad marks.
2. One of the essays is out of topic. Possibly the task II. Can you remember the essay topic and how did you develop the essay?
You can also think why this happened in test room while you did good in practice? maybe you spend two hours for one essay in practice? while you have limited time and stressed out in the test room?
Let us know more reasons and we will help you get rid of this situation.
The task 2 topic on January
The task 2 topic on January 17th in China is:
Some people think that the amount of noise people make have to be controlled strictly, others say that people are free to make as much as they wish. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.
I think I did very well on this one, and after the test I checked the model answer, I still think I did very well. The task 1 I may didn't do that well as task 2, at least it shouldn't be a 5.5.
Actually you are good at task
Actually you are good at task I too. That's weird. We are 100% sure your marks should not 5.5.
Possible solutions:
1.Do you know some where you can complain with? or ask IELTS staff re-check your essays?
2. Do you think it is a problem since you followed the model answers? If a lot of people have the same style on same topic, the marks will be down.
3. Can you re-write this essay? we will see the possible problems.
4. forget about the past, and re-start the essay writing from the beginning. Still there is a great room for you to improve.
Anyway, this is life. There are something out of control, but we will have to manage it. Hope you can be peaceful to deal with this issue.
