The pie charts illustrate the proportion of water utilized by six different regions of the world namely North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia for various purposes.
Overall, the most significant proportion of water is used for agriculture, while the least amount is accounted for domestic use. However, usage for industries varies substantially in the studied areas.
Focusing on agricultural and domestic purposes, these fields report for nearly and above four-fifths of usage in Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia with 84, 88, and 81 percent respectively. Whereas, these numbers for North America and Europe is just around a third with 39 and 32 percent. Regarding domestic use, the least is accounted by Central and South East Asia at 7%, while maximum notes at 19% for South America.
On the other hand, Industrial usages were nearly a half in areas of North America and Europe at 48 and 53% respectively although these numbers are below a tenth in the remaining regions.
