You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.
Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter
correct the information in the article
explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you that the an article published in your paper has wrong information and must be corrected. In the issue, published on 15 January 2021 an article was published on the Air force museum which stated that it displays a wide array of airplanes from the war period. Whereas the atual information should be it displays a wide array of aircrafts from the war period. Though the mistake is a minute one but it makes a huge difference in the actual idea.
If the information provided by media is not accurate, it may mislead the general public, especially the children who reads your paper on a daily basis. In addition, your organisation may face heavy penalty on the same account.
However, I understand that the article has already been published and many copies have been already sold in the market. May I suggest that you should rectify the error in the online portals so that those who read newspapers online get the appropriate information. Furthermore, kindly ensure that the artcles are proofread before sending them out for publishing.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to seeing the suggested measures taken into action.
Yours faithfully
XYZ
