The diagram illustrates the steps of manufacturing process of usable papers from paper waste.
Overall, the recycling of waste papers involves six stages from collection of discarded papers to producing new papers by machines at the factories. In between those two stages, collected waste papers are made suitable for recycling by sorting, cleaning and de-inking.
First, waste papers are collected from both public paper banks and industries. Having being collected, they are then sorted and graded manually. Papers that are not suitable for recycling are discarded at the same time as the papers are segregated. After that, graded papers are delivered to a mill, where the production is carried out. After being transported to the mill, cleaning is taken place, in which pulping and removing of unnecessary materials such as staples is carried out. Before being converted in to reusable papers by a machine, cleaned papers are subjected to de-inking, whereby inks and glues are removed from the papers.
