People argue whether every pupil should learn a foreign language or there is no obligation on the ones who are not talented. I personally believe that knowing an international language is essential and everyone needs to be familiar with one of them.
First of all, in such a global village that we are living in, learning foreign tongues, especially English, seems necessary. Since today, information spreads at the speed of light, and if we would not be able to gain first-hand data, we may lose the opportunity to be well informed of what is happening around us. Nowadays, even the simplest tasks need basic knowledge of English, thanks to the development of technology. For instance, working with computers, which is an undeniable part of every education and occupation, is totally dependent on our English skills. Therefore, from my personal standpoint, learning a foreign language is an inevitable must for modern life.
On the other hand, human ability varies among different individuals and not all students are talented enough to become proficient in a foreign language. As an example, we are mandated to learn Arabic as well as English in our schools, and I always had difficulty dealing with this language, so that my grades never exceeded 16 out of 20. While in the last year I managed to receive a 19 and my percentage at this course was the highest among other courses in the university entrance exam. So the point is that even with the least talent, almost everyone is able to enhance their language skill by perseverance and consistency. Because not only each fundamental activity needs basic knowledge of the international language, but also in order to master our job or education, we have no choice other than excelling as per language fluency.
To sum up, I believe that despite the difficulty of acquiring foreign language skills for all the kids, this is vital to reach the beginner level at one of them at least.
