Task 1: The graphs show changes in the trends of the urban and rural population and by different age groups from 1950 to 2040. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given graphs show data on the changes in the trends of the urban and rural population and regarding by different age groups between 1950 and 2040. Overall, the first graph shows us that the proportion of rural and urban population witnessed a significant increase starting from the year 1950 while the second graph indicates that most of the residents were people aging 14 to 23. This tendency is predicted to remain until 2040.
In the year 1950, there were nearly 8% of the total population living in urban areas, about 2% less than that of the total. The figure shows that the rural population started low, there were hardly any people living in this area in 1950. From 1980 to 2000, the metropolitan was leading in the number of civilians where they rose from 15% to 20%. A slight surge was also recorded in rural areas with the adding of 5% more residents. The year 2000 marked a dramatic escalation in the urban population. It is forecasted that one-third of the total civilians will live in cities in 2040, which may seem far-fetched to be compared with that of countryside residents. Its figure is predicted to reach 10% by that year.
In the first year of the period, 8% of the population was people who were 16-65, the proportion of people in the age group 0-15, as well as over 65, were 2,5% and 5% respectively. The second time frame starting from the 1980s to the 2000s spotted a remarkable rise in the number of residents coming from the age group 16-65 while the other figures stayed stable. However, there was a downward trend in the number of kids and young teenagers in the year 2000, this trend is also expected to stay unchanged in the following years and reach 6% in 2040. In contrast, both figures standing for old people and teenagers to middle age people started to increase ever since. In the last year mentioned, there will be 10% of senior citizens, three times less than that of the 16-65 population.
