The paragraph below shows the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport
The line graph illustrates the ways that UK transported their goods (road, water, rail and pipeline) and also there are presented the quantities (millions of tonnes) between 1974 and 2002.
Over all the medium quantities which are shown in the graph are the water and the rail, the highest level of quantity is registered by road and the lowest rate of usage is by pipeline.
Between 1974 and 1978 road and rail transport register the same quantity (40 mil tons constantly) while road and pipeline register a slight increase, from around 70 mil tons to almost 75, and from above 5 to around a value above but close to 10 respectively.
From 1978 to 1982 road quantities registered small decrease by getting to the value from 1974, while pipeline and water increased by 5 mil tones and 8 - 9 mil of tones respectively. From 1978 to 1986 rail transport decreased constantly and between 1986 to 1994 there was a...
