The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
The given bar chart illustrates the result of a survey about the percentage of Australian city dwellers who were consuming and purchasing tea and coffee in the last four weeks in five different cities of Australia named Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart.
Overall, as can be seen from the graph, the vast majority of dwellers in the cities were interested in going to a cafe for coffee or tea, and people prefer to buy instant coffee rather than fresh coffee.
To be more specific, regarding the first three cities, the residents who went to a coffee shop in the last four weeks remained higher than other figures, reached approximately 62% in Sydney, followed by 64% and around 55% in Melbourne and Brisbane, respectively. The figure for city residents who bought instant coffee appeared to have an upward trend in the order from Sydney to Brisbane, from about 45% to around 53%. The percentage of people buying fresh coffee was relatively low, at just 43% in Sydney, and decreased slightly to 42% in Melbourne. However, there was a sharp deceleration to nearly under 34% in Brisbane.
In terms of the other two areas, which are Adelaide and Hobart, the number of dwellers who purchased fresh coffee continued to be the lowest figure, just under 40% in both two cities. In Adelaide, residents getting instant coffee rose to the first ranked figure at exactly a half and then increased to about 55% in Hobart in the last four weeks. The figure for those who went to a café was relatively high, at nearly a half in Adelaide and reached about 63% in Hobart.
