Overall, differences are noticable in the portion of nutrients comprised by each meal. Also, while breakfast is the healthies meal in a day, dinner and snack is in sharp contrast
In terms of added sugar, roughly half of this is found in snacks with 42%, which comprises of only 14% and 21% sodium and saturated fat, respectively. On the other hand, in every dinner, the American intake approximately 43% sodium and 37% saturated fat, while the figure from added sugar is relatively lower with 23%
Meanwhile, the proportions of these nutrients found in breakfast and lunch are considerably small. Breakfast only contains 14% of sodium and the same ratio of 16% of added sugar and saturated fat. Finally, 29% of sodium is consumed in lunch, 10% and 3 % higher than that of added sugar and saturated fat, respectively
