The graph below shows the unemployment rates in the US and Japan between March 1993 and March 1999. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The graph gives information about unemployment fluctuations from March 1997 to March 1999 in Japan and the USA.
From the graph, we can see that Japan and USA started from different rates, but finally they reach the same rate.
Having an analyse by the level of unemployment, the difference between the two countries has gradually decreased since 1993 until 1999.
The USA has a periodicity pattern for a year. In the spring, it is recorded a downward trend. After four months, there is a slight growth in the number of unemployed people. At the end of the year, there is a gradual drop. So, between two years, there are recorded two peaks.
In Japan, there is a fluctuating increase in which there are three peaks in 1996, between 1996 and 1997 and from 1998 to 1999. The lowest two drops for Japan are recorded between 1996 and 1998.
In conclusion, the US and Japan will remain at the same level of unemployment in 1999.
