The bar charts reveal changes in the proportion of the 60-64s in two genders who have jobs in four different countries in the two separate years, 1970 and 2000. Overall, there was a downward trend in both genders, among which males always dominated higher value than females during these years surveyed.
In 1970, the rate of working men and women in the USA outnumbered others, making up 86% and 78% respectively. This was closely followed by that of those in Indonesia, which male consists of 84% and female consist of 65%. The figure for men and women having jobs in the remaining countries was similar, standing at an average of 76% for the former and 60% for the latter.
After 30 years, the percentage of working males continued its highest figure among all, at 78% while that of females fell to 45%. A close value can be seen in the figure for Japan and Indonesia, in which 55% belonged to men and 62% belonged to women on average. There was a relatively large gap between the proportion of those in Belgium with the figure for males being approximately seven times compared with that for females.
