The provided line charts illustrate the changes in proportions of households with electrical appliances and the figures of hours of housework in a country from 1920 to 2019.
It is obvious from the charts that the rate of ownership of electrical appliances witnessed an enormous upward trend between 1920 and 2019. On the contrary, there is a remarkable fall in the amount of hours spent doing housework per week over the period.
In 1920, a dramatic increase was undergone in the percentage of refrigerator, started from 0% and reached a peak at 100% between 1920 and 2019, followed by constant stability at 100\% Moreover, in 1920, the rate of people using vacuum cleaner rose enormously from 30% to 100\% in 2000 and still remained unchanged at the same percentage. Washing machine was the most common use at the beginning, at 40\% and oscillated around 60\% to 70% from 1940 to 2000, followed by a slight growth to nearly 75\% in 2019.
As can be seen from the second chart, the figures for hours of housework per week hit the highest point at 50\% in 1920, and progressively decreased to 10% in 2019.
