By contrast, the proportion of people living in Asia was at the lowest point at around 3% in 1976. From 1976 to 2011, the percentage of people living in Asia surged dramatically from about 3% to 15%. The other countries saw a considerable fall from 12% to around 7% in the first 10 years before significantly grew in the number of residents living in Australia from about 7% to around 14%.
Turning to the total, with around 23% of all the population, the total population in Australia ranked the highest in comparison with the others 3.
