TOEFL Integrated Writing.

The author and professor discuss the new policy which can eliminate traffic jams, overcrowding roads and pollution. The reading states that it will affect positively, whilst the lecturer completely against this idea.

First, according to the passage, by increasing the using of roads, people will refuse from driving their cars and get to the public transport. In aftermaths, it will decrease the air pollution. However, the professor contends that the majority of people will have to choose their cars because buses do not go in each surrounding.

Second, the reading is convinced that by removing cars from the road everyone can save their time. Drivers who will pay extra fees for the road will not have to wait in a myriad of traffic jams and also it will take less time to go to appropriate places. Nevertheless, the teacher opposes this idea because as the number of people who use buses as a main transport will considerably go up, the time spending in a bus and even trying to get into will increase as well.

Third, the passage states that if the government penalize all citizens for harming the air financially, everyone will prefer not to do it anymore, thereby there will be fresh and clean environment. In spite of this lovely opinion, the lecturer objects it by saying that there are families with tight budget everywhere; hence these extra fees will only deteriorate their position.
