The pie charts depict the data about the proportion of the primary reasons why students use mobile phones, according to the reports of the surveys conducted in a certain country in Africa from 2016 to 2019.
In general, while using phones for social networks and digital cameras increased, using phones for email and phone calls decreased over the period given. In addition, the most popular reason for using phones for students was social networking.
Looking at the charts, we can see that about half of each of the pie charts were students using the phone for social networks. Except for 2017, this figure had a slight drop to 48%, while in 2019, it rose slightly to 56%. In the first two years of the survey, digital cameras accounted for the same proportion, at 15%. After that, it grew gradually to 18% in 2018 and to 20% in 2019.
In contrast, using the phone for email stood at the second position for popular reasons. In 2016, this figure represented 25%. However, it declined consistently for the remaining time, and in 2019, it made up only 19%. Meanwhile, the reason for phone calls fluctuated between 11% and 13% from 2016 to 2018. In the final year of this survey, it was the least popular reason, at just 5%.
