Overall, the percentage of house hold appliances increased during this period while the hours of household chores had a sharp decrease, the number of refrigerator was lower than washing machine and vacuum cleaner but had a rapid increase in 2019 while washing machine became the lowest in 2019.
In 1920, the number of Refrigerator was around 4 percent while Vacuum cleaner and Washing machine was 30 and 40 percent respectively. Both of these figures had a noticable increase in 1960 with around 70 percent each. The percentage of Refrigerator had a sharp increased from around 4 percent to 90 percent in 1960. This number continue to increase and peaked at 100 percent in 2019.
The number of Vacuum cleaner had a sharp increase after 1960 and peaked at 100 percent in 2019 while Washing machine only only had a slight increase around 75 percent in 2019. The number of household chores was around 50 hours in 1920 but this number continue to drop until 2019 where it remain around 10 percent.
