The bar charts illustrate the average house expenses in England and its capital city – London, and to present the comparison regarding the average house prices between distinct areas of England within the year 2013
The given bar chart sheds lights on the average accommodation value in the UK and its capital city - London in 1995 and 2013 while the other indicates the disparity in accommodation price in six different areas of the UK.
As can be seen from the graph, the 1995-2013 period witness a surge in house prices all over England and London citizens have to pay the highest housing expenditures.
When it comes to the growth rate of housing, it is noticeable that accommodation price in London always remained higher than that of England during the 1995-2013 period. While England’s housing cost rose from 130000 in 1995 to 200000 in 2013, house price in its capital was already 200000 in 1995, it then climbed to over 400000 in 2013, more than twice times its original cost.
Considering housing expenditure in other parts of England in 2013, inhabitants in South east, South West and North West have to pay considerably high housing cost, at around 320000, 270000 and 200000 respectively. At the same year, accommodation cost in Midlands is just 110000, just a third of the South East’s price. The figure for Northeast is even lower, just 100000, a quarter of that in London, this is also the lowest data recorded in the whole graph.
