Overall, the majority of females got married at a younger age than males. It is also clear that while the average age of marriage for females was 25 to 29, there was an upward trend in males’ figures in the 30-34 and 35-39 age group.

Women between 20 and 24 accounted for 6% which was higher than that of men who were 30 to 35, at 4%, after which both figures decreased almost twofold to 3% and just over 2% respectively. The percentages of females aged 25 to 29 (just under 12%) and 40 to 44 (2%) remained unchanged over the 12-year period. At the same time, there was a slight rise from 7% to 8% in females from 30-34.
As for males, there was no significant change regarding the 20 to 24 age group, stabilizing at about 2%. Males’ figures aged 25 to 29 and 40 and over witnessed a slight drop to 8% for the former and nearly 3.5% for the latter in 2006. Finally, starting at 9%, the proportion of men aged 30 to 34 showed an increase of 3% in 2008. A similar trend can be seen for the 35-39 group, rising from 4% to over 11%.
