You should write at least 150 words.

The given bar chart illustrates how the proportions of Australian people and those who were born in other countries changed in terms of living areas in a 15-year interval, from 1995 to 2010.

Overall, cities were the most popular option for residents regardless of their origin. It is also worth pointing out that the percentage of people living in the countryside witnessed a dramatic drop in the same period.

To begin with, in 1995, it is recorded that the percentage of Australian citizens in urban areas was around 50%, followed by that of rural area counterparts with the figure standing at 30%. In addition, only approximately 20% of Australian-born residents chose to live in towns. However, in the next 15 years, while the proportion of those in cities experienced a rise, reaching nearly 65%, both percentages of individuals living in the other areas fell slightly and reached a point at around 15% equally.

Turning to the other set of data, within the given period of time, the ratio of non-Australian residents dwelling in cities underwent a surge of about 20%, occupying the largest part of the chart. By contrast, that of these people in rural areas showed a significant fall, reaching the lowest point at just about 5%. Furthermore, there were only 10% of residents from other nations who preferred to live in towns. After 15 years, this figure witnessed no changes.
