bar
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of British nationals spending on charity by age range and it compares the years 1990 and 2010.
Overall, it is clear that people aged between 36 and 65 spent the highest amount of money on charity work in both the years and the least amount of money endorsed by young people in 2010.
In 1990, young adults spent more than 15% of their income on charity and the proportion of expenditure on nonprofit works gradually increased to more than 40 % in the age range of 36-50 years. However, after the age of 50 people tends to lower their share and it went down under 35% for the people aged over 65 years old.
On the other hand, in 2010, the overall trend is the same as in 1990 except that people tend to reduce their share after the age of 65. It is evident from the chart that the proportion reduced from approximately 40% to 35% between the age range of 51-65 and more than 65 years old.
