The bar chart shows type of media to get daily news, by age group 2011.
The given chart reveals information about 3 forms of media utilized by people of various ages to obtain their daily news in the year 2011. The media types surveyed were social networking, microblogging, and radio.
The graph makes it quite apparent that radio topped the list of the most popular media types in the given year, while microblogging seemed to be the least appealing. Furthermore, social networking steadily declined in popularity among older age groups.
Radio ranked first among all age groups in 2011, with the exception of adolescents (10-17). Apparently, radio showed its prevalence with 90% of listeners between 18 and 29 years old and 85% aged 30-49. Radio maintained its appeal as the most preferred media type, despite a slight decline in the number of listeners in the 50+ age group. In the given year, despite holding the same figure with 80% of users in adolescents (10-17) and young adults (18-29), social networking halved in group aged 30-49 and was down to 26% in the group over 65.
Microblogging, the final media category, received the least attention of all types. It attracted 20% to 30% of citizens in the younger age groups, but just 10% or less of seniors used it.
