The table and charts detailed below give information about the police budget in 2017 and 2018 in on area of Britain. The table illustrates where the money came from and the charts show how it was distributed.
The table depicts information regarding the budget of Britain police and the two pie charts illustrate the way it was allocated between 2017 and 2018. Overall, it is clear that all the examined sources have increased in which National Government maintained the largest financial support. Moreover, the amount of money spent for Officers and staff’s salaries were outnumbered Technology and Buildings and transport sectors.
In terms of the sources of Police budget, National Government registed the largest contributor which slightly rose by 2.3 m, from 175.5m to 177.8m. In addtion, there was a significant increase in the amount of Local taxes by over 11m to reach 102.3m in 2018 whereas Other sources ( eg grants) accounted for the small minority sources at around 38m in two years.
Regarding the distribution of budget, the salary for officers and staff witnessed a dramatically decrease from 75% to 69%, followed by Technology sector which was remained 17% over that period. Additionally, the figure for Buildings and transports was approximately doubled at 14% in 2018, but still the lowest contributor.
