the graphs below show the number of drivers in Britain who have been caught driving too fast by speed cameras placed on roads, and the number of people killed in road accidents, over an eight-year period since the introduction of speed cameras. the tables show the results of a survey on people's opinions on speed cameras.
The provided graphs demostrate the figures for fast-drivers caught on speed camera and related fatal accidents. Tables illustrates people's opinions through the survey on the effectiveness, purpose and number of the cameras.
The first graph shows the number of speeding drivers in year 1 with 200,000 which rocketed in year 6 and went up till 1,5 million drivers fined for speeding in year 8. Accordingy, 60% of surveyed people agree that more speed cameras do not guarantee the road safety.
The graph two depicts data on accidents with lethal outcomes over the same period. Despite the fact of increased quantity of speed cameras, any significant change was not noticed. Throught the period, figures slightly vary just above 300,000. Related poll survey asking people the purpose of the cameras revealed that 70% think cameras serve for government revenue, while other 26% agree that they improve road safety. Another group of people (56%) believe that there are too many cameras on the roads.
In overall, it can be observed that "the more cameras, the fewer accidents" is not true. People's attitutes are mostly negative towards this issue due to the redundant amount of cameras that do not reduce road accidents.
