Overall, for all figures the overall trend was upward. In addition, passenger vehicles recorded the highest number of vehicles used, while the most significant growth was seen in motorcycles.
Turning to the chart for the details, in 2010, there were 11.8 million passenger vehicles registered, compared to 2.3 million commercial ones used. During the next 4 years, the number of passenger vehicles grew significantly to 13 million, with an increase of 10.2%. Similarly, commercial vehicles recorded a more considerable rise to 2.7 million, with a 17.4% growth. Notably, motorcycles experienced an increase from 540 to 709 thousand, with the highest climb of 30.8% over the same period.
Looking at the other types of vehicles, about 384 thousand heavy trucks were registered in 2010, which was higher than light trucks, at 106 thousand in 2010. Over the following 4 years, the figure for heavy trucks witnessed a significant increase of around 32 thousand, with an increase of 8.3%. Meanwhile, light trucks rose significantly to 131 thousand, with a 23.5% rise.
