The table illustrates the proportion of land covered by forest in major countries in 1990 and 2005 with calculated features for 2015. Overall, Brazil had the highest number of lands covered by forest whereas Chile had the lowest percentage of covered lands.
It is clearly seen that Brazil’s covered land in 1990 was the highest one proved by 62.2% amongst three other nations. Although this figure had a tendency to decrease by 25% 15 years later, it is predicted to remain being the highest one in 2015 accompanying with 53.5% of land covered by forest. In contrast to Brazil, Chile hit the lowest point in 1990 following with 20.4% in 1990. However, it will increase by 8.4% in 2015. Besides, New Zealand will have the same upward trend as Chile in 2015 by the proof of 5.5% growth. Compared to New Zealand, Brazil and Chile, the percentage of lands covered by forest in Australia will be 1.9% lower than it was in 1990, therefore it is believed to be the nation having the lowest number of forests in the year 2015.
