percentage of tourists to scotland who visited different attractions
The line graph demonstrates the percentage of visitors to four places of interest in Scotland: Aquarium, Castle, Zoo and Festival from 1980 to 2010.
In general, there was an increase in the number of visitors to the Castle and Zoo. However, the Aquarium and Festival saw a decrease in their tourists.
To start off, the Zoo attracted only 10% of visitors, which were far fewer than the other destinations. This number fluctuated between 10% and 15% before rocketing to nearly 25% in 2010. Meanwhile, in 1980, 25% of travelers chose to pay a visit to the Castle and this number hit a peak at 45% in 1995 before slightly falling down to 35% in 2010.
Another interesting point of this line graph is that the Festival used to be the most popular place in 1980; since then, it has gradually declined to approximately 20%. Besides, there were initially 20% of visitors to Aquarium but it remained at this level in the next fifteen years and from 1995 onwards, this place has witnessed a dramatic drop in the percentage of visitors to just over 5%.
