The table and charts below give information on the police budget for 2017 and 2018 in one area of Britain. The table shows where the money came from and the charts show how it was distributed.
summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main feature, and make comparisons where relevent.
Three diagrams provide data on the difference in a British location’s police budget between two years. The table demonstrates where the money came from and the two pie charts indicate the distribution of capital. From an overall perspective, the amount received from each source increased, with a largest proportion going to paying wages.
Looking at the table, it is clear to see that money gained from taxation in local areas increased the most. In 2017, the amount was £91.2m, whereas in 2018, it increased by £11.1million to £102.3m. Cash from other sources apart from tax and government fund increased only by a small margin, rising to £38.5m which is £0.5m higher than the previous year.
Turning to the two pie charts which demonstrate the specific distribution of the money, despite dropping 6%, salary payout remained the highest in the two years. Funds allocated to buildings and transport stayed 17% of the total budget. Money used for technological purposes, however, increased form 8% to 14%. Nonetheless, it remained the lowest of all three categories.
