The table illustrates the usage of daytime hours of a jobless person in the UK the previous year, broken down into gender. At first glance, both unemployed men and women displayed a more tentative mind toward stress-inducing activities while recreation was held lesser importance.
The most striking detail is the figures of several activities requiring focus and determination of both male and female, especially in the morning. Most activities took up more than 10% of their daily life, with some reaching close to half the day. Housework, shopping and visiting loved one received a more significant attention of female than their male counterpart, especially during the morning. Meanwhile, unemployed men focused more in finding job and taking care of their lawn most of the time.
Both male and female UK unemployed citizen took recreation such as watching TV, reading and decorating lightly since almost close to none of the tasks received a 10% of their attention. Women even chose not to stay in bed or do sport in the afternoon in exchange for more time for the aforementioned activities.
