Overall, it is evident that, total teaching qualifications obtained in both the years is almost identical and females being the majority than males contributing one-seventh of the total percentage.
In the year, 2005/6 the total teaching qualifications were 31,930 and the female students obtaining teaching qualifications are 23,865 and males contributing with 8,065 making quarter of the percentage. In this, majority obtained PGCE course with the total of 24,405 students and as usual females being the most qualified. and males contributing 28.6% in this. Same can be observed in the BEd & other degrees that males are least obtained.
In the year, 2006/7 the total teaching qualifications obtained is almost identical to the past year and there is a moderate increase in the female strength. However, the numbers of male had experienced a slight dip of around 500 students and making the percentage up to 23.8% slightly less than in the year 2005/6. Same can be observed in the Bed & other degrees that, the numbers rose in female and male students around 100 to 500. In converse to it, the students obtaining the PGCE experienced a negligible shrink in females and drastic dip in the males of about 500 students making the male percentage nearly 28%.
