The beginning of the 21st century has witnessed a worrying trend of childhood obesity in several countries. In the face of this issue, many netizens have held the government accountable for this phenomenon due to the presence of advertisements for unhealthy food in the media. I partly disagree with this issue for the following reasons.
On the one hand, one should hold responsibility for his health since it is a matter of self-discipline. As only one himself has the most comprehensive understanding and complete control over his own schedules and diets, he should easily track down the roots of his physical problems and thus, actively rearrange his routines to tackle the problem. Regarding kids who are genetically susceptible to gaining or losing weight, their attitude toward their bodies still plays a pivotal role in their health status. While these children should be provided with designated meal and exercise plans from experts, it is their perseverance and patience that determine the outcome of the treatment.
On the other hand, the government should also participate in rectifying the situation. One of the main reasons behind the rising rate of overweight children is their exposure to advertisements for unhealthy food in the media. In response to this issue, the authorities ought to execute strict censorship against these kinds of content or impose age limits on junk food commercials. Additionally, governmental bodies should also increase taxes on these products in order to restrict their sales and attraction toward youngsters.
In conclusion, as the rate of obesity continues to rise in various nations, the problem can only be solved through joint efforts from different parties. While each individual should acknowledge the importance of a balanced lifestyle, governmental officials should also take action to hinder the growing popularity of unhealthy products.
- In many countries children are becoming overweight and unhealthy Some people think that the government should have the responsibility to solve this problem To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view 78
