The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children’s sports between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in Britain over the same time period.
The line graphs illustrate the average amount of money that parents invested in children’s sports every month, and the quantity of kids taking part in three types of sport activities from year 2008 to 2014.
In general, the parents spent much more money on children’s sport activities over the period of 6 years. It is clear that there were more children participated in sports, with the highest number of those took part in football over entire these years..
To commence with, in 2008, parents spents average 20 pounds per month on outdoor activities of their children. This figure witnessed a considerable increase over the six-year period, and reached a high of more than 30 pounds in 2014.
Regarding the number of children took part in three different activities. in 2008, only approximately 1 millions children took part in athletics, while this figure for football was more than 7.5 millions, ranked at the first place. From 2008 to 2010, the number of children participated in these two sports remained unchange before athletics rose dramatically and finished at about 5 millions. Swimming saw an upward trend in participation of children; however, stood at the bottom of the list in 2014 at around 4 millions.
