The two figures illustrate the changes that have taken place in the police budget of a specific region in Britain in two years 2017 and 2018. Specifically, the pie chart gives information on the way these budgets were spent whereas the table shows the origin of this money.
Overall, in both two years, the financial plan primarily came from the national government, and it was mostly spent on paying salaries for officers and staff. In addition, in 2017 and 2018, the total budget exceeded 300 million euro each year.
Regarding the table, over 175 million euros of the financial plan came from the contribution of the national government each year, making it the largest source of income of the region. Moreover, 91.2 million euros were generated from local taxes in 2017, which increased by nearly 10 million euros one year later. Finally, there was a slight rise in the total income of other sources, such as grants, from 38 million in 2017 to 38.5 million euros in 2018.
Turning to the pie chart, over half of the budget was used for officers and staff’s salaries. The figure was much lower in the expenditure on technology and buildings and transport. While over the 2 years, the spending on buildings and transport remained unchanged, at 17%, there was a small increase in the reported figure for technology, rising by 6% in 2018.
